Grupo Polpaico, which is controlled by Swiss cement giant Holcim Ltd. (HOLN.VX), and Melon said Monday their operations suffered minor damage.
"So far we have no information about [employees] that have been injured... Our plants in Chile have only minor damages," Roland Walker, head of corporate communications for Holcim, said in a telephone interview.
Polpaico shipped 1.47 million tons of cement and had annual installed capacity of 2.3 million tons in 2008, according to company data.
Its biggest cement factory, Cerro Blanco, with annual capacity of 1.6 million tons, is located 40 kilometers north of Santiago. The company also has grinding plants in Coronel, near the quake's epicenter, and Mejillones in northern Chile.
The magnitude-8.8 quake that struck off Chile's coast early Saturday morning destroyed bridges, roads and buildings throughout south-central Chile. Telecommunications and electricity services were also disrupted.
The country's second-largest city, Concepcion, and the nearby port of Talcahuano were especially hard hit due to their proximity to the earthquake's epicenter, while the capital Santiago suffered moderate damage.
